Presentation on Kabul New City Master Plan Progress and Urgent Water Resources Development and Supply in the Supreme Water Council
The Supreme Water Council was held on 25th January, 2012 at the Ministry of Water and Energy with active participation of Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW), Ministry of Mines (MoM), Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), Afghan Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (AUWSCC), National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), Kabul Municipality (KM) and Dehsabz – Barikab City Development Authority (DCDA). Eng. Ghulam Sachi Hassanzadah, Member of the Independent Board and CEO Dehsabz – Barikab City Development Authority (DCDA) thanked the members of the Water Supreme Council for availing the opportunity to share progress with the New City project and Development of Water Resources for the city. He emphasized on the cooperation among all relevant stakeholders and added, “A standardized city is built for the first time in the history of the country therefore, great assistance and support is needed from all involved stakeholders in the Water Council.” The members of the Water Council were briefed on the progress with the Kabul New City Master Plan and development of Urgent Water Resources and Supply for the Kabul New City. On behalf of the members of the Council, Hon. Mr. Ziaee deputy minister of the Energy and Water and head of the Council announced his full readiness to support the DCDA and make the project a visible success of the country.
